Clootee is free and open-source software, licensed under the Apache License, Version 2.0. The licence text ships in the package as LICENSE and governs your use, modification and redistribution of the software. Nothing on this page overrides it.
As stated in the licence, the software is provided “as is”, without warranties or conditions of any kind. You run it on your own machine, at your own risk.
Clootee runs the coding agent with permission prompts bypassed, so that tasks can run unattended. The practical consequence is direct:
Anyone who can open the Clootee web UI can run any command on that machine, as you.
127.0.0.1 only by default. Keep it that way, and never expose it to the public internet — use an SSH tunnel or a VPN if you need remote access.Clootee installs and drives software published by others (Node.js, Git, Claude Code, Codex) and connects to model providers you choose. Your use of those is governed by their own terms, and any fees they charge are between you and them. Clootee itself costs nothing.
